iTunes 8 – It’s actually broadening my music taste, Genius!

To coincide with the lauch of Apples latest iteration to the iPod range came iTunes 8. This is the first really substatial update to their already excellent music and video playing platform. The main new features include:

  • Genius Playlist Generation
  • Genius sidebar
  • Grid view
  • New and improved visualiser

Nike+ has taken over my life

Having run over 500miles in 12 months thanks to my iPod and the Nike+ its safe to say that I’m more than a little addicted!

This joint venture between Nike and Apple is a small add on that allows you to track your running performance while listening to your favourite tunes on your iPod. For the incredibly reasonable price of £19.99, you get a small reciever that plugs into the bottom of your iPod Nano or iPod Touch.

IPod Shuffle

Small, perfectly formed, but not for me.

After the recent price drop I decided to go out and buy my girlfriend an IPod Shuffle. £32 got me a 1GB shuffle in green (I wanted a purple one but they had run out!). After my Nano this is only the second Apple product I have purchased so I was keen to get it home and unbox it – eager to find out if it lives up to the reputation for quality that Apple are famous for. Mainly because the software I use for work is PC only I have never been able to truly buy into the Apple brand but from the moment you pick up an Apple product there is a unique design philosophy that’s hard not to fall in love with.
