It has to be said The Great North Run lived up to its reputation, and some; 2 days later and I’m still buzzing! Although I have been running for fun for nearly 2 years now this was the first event I have participated in and it certainly won’t be the last. I picked the North Run as it has a big reputation and being a half marathon is about on the limit of what I can enjoyably run. However, when the number arrived in the post a few months back I suddenly realised that this wouldn’t be quite the same as my usual jogs round Cardiff – it’s not like you can change the route mid-run depending on how you’re feeling and then there’s the fact you’re running alongside others; I’m not overly vain but i’m not sure how motivating it is when people are whizzing past you! |
